Privacy Policy

Steady is a free uptime-monitoring service operated by an independent developer. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Plain language, no surprises.

Who we are

Steady (“we”, “the service”) is run by an independent developer. You can reach us at soumyazyx@gmail.com.

What we collect

Account information. You sign in with Google. We receive your email address and basic profile (your name) from Google to create and identify your account. We never receive your Google password.

Monitoring configuration. The monitors you create — their names, the URLs and endpoints you ask us to check, check intervals, expected responses and keywords, and any email addresses or webhook URLs you add as notification channels.

Monitoring results. The outcomes of the checks we run on your behalf — up/down status, response times, status codes, SSL expiry, and incident history.

Device & push information. If you use the Android app, we store a per-device token that authenticates the app, a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) registration token so we can deliver push alerts, and the device platform (e.g. “android”).

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or any special-category (“sensitive”) personal data. Steady contains no advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking.

How we use it

• To run the uptime checks you configure and show you the results.
• To notify you — by email, push, or webhook — when a monitor changes state.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To operate, maintain, and improve the service.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with third parties for advertising.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of providers, strictly to run the service:

• Google — sign-in (OAuth) and Firebase Cloud Messaging for Android push delivery.
• Cloud hosting — our servers, where your data is stored.
• Email delivery — to send you alert and account emails.

Each provider processes data only to perform its function for us.

Data retention

We keep your account and monitor configuration for as long as your account exists. Individual check results are retained on a rolling basis to power your charts and may be pruned over time. When you delete a monitor or your account, the associated data is removed.

Your choices

• Access & deletion. You can delete individual monitors at any time. To delete your account and all associated data, see how to delete your account (or email soumyazyx@gmail.com).
• Notifications. You control which notification channels are active. Uninstalling the Android app stops push delivery to that device.

Security

Connections to Steady are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

Steady is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
